32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. (Matt. 10:32-33 NKJV)
This morning as I spent time with the Lord and pondered on the message that He wanted me to relay; I was drawn to Matthew 10; a chapter full of urgency and warning. One that requires eyes to see and ears to hear; for the destitute in spirit would miss this calling and would only see punishment. Here Jesus is calling us to grow up, to show up, to understand that time is of great importance, and despite what many choose to believe in the end their choices has no impact on the written outcome.
14 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.15 Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city! (Matt.10:14-15 NKJV)
Many are those that I encounter as I share the gospel, whom choose to believe in their own fancies denying God, Jesus and the Word; some out of naivety, some out of anger and spite and others just aloof to the truth. None of them however, has ever had an encounter with God, for if you had; and having experienced the most profound and significant form or love and seeing the wonders He does in your life; would turn away out of a sound mind for that would be an act of total self transgression; It would mean complete self hatred, and who hates their soul so much to condemn it to hell?
11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.
(Rom 13:11 NKJV)
Wishing to believe that hell does not exist, it does not make it go away, those are the choices of ignorance I come across on my walks, but it saddens me to hear their plunge into destruction, for we all come seeking the sublime, searching in our depths for the love that will make us whole, for the joy that is permanent and not fleeting as we pursue it in pleasures, and yet the answer is closer than we think. It's simpler than our minds can perceive and it is effortless despite how the world paints it. For God gives us His Peace and fulfill us with his Grace, not as a response of our efforts, but as a consequence of His perfect Love.
So, I urge those who insists in their follies to think twice; to give God a chance, which in fact you will be giving yourself a chance to not depart this world without having had the most significant encounter of your life. Meeting the creator, the one that can restore all things, the one that can heal you, the one in whom there is no lack, the one whose Love is everything you have always wanted and never knew because you have never gave yourself a chance.
112 Praise[a] the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
Who delights greatly in His commandments.
2 His descendants will be mighty on earth;
The generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches will be in his house,
And his righteousness [b]endures forever.
4 Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness;
He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
5 A good man deals graciously and lends;
He will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he will never be shaken;
The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He will not be afraid of evil tidings;
His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is established;
He will not be afraid,
Until he sees his desire upon his enemies.
9 He has dispersed abroad,
He has given to the poor;
His righteousness endures forever;
His [c]horn will be exalted with honor.
10 The wicked will see it and be grieved;
He will gnash his teeth and melt away;
The desire of the wicked shall perish. (Psalm 112 NKJV)
